Fledgling's first independent course is here (and my gift to subscribers this October)
Plus, Lunch Break links for October 5, 12, 19, 26
The Brooklyn Book Festival sure looked different than I was expecting this year. Where I’ve experienced literary delirium, meeting hundreds of new writing friends, and colorful jubilance as a vendor at the BKBF Marketplace before, I was met with 30 mph winds, sidewise rain, and demolished canopies when I pulled up to the festival this year. Needless to say, the outdoor marketplace was cancelled.
Though I’m sad I couldn’t follow through with my plan of creating a community poetry collage and offering major giveaways and discounts at my table, I’m grateful to have had the chance to experience the festival in a new way this year. And of course, for staying warm and dry. :)
All this energy and excitement needs a place to go, so I’m pouring it into the launch of Fledgling’s first independent course, The Nestling Course: on drafting a narrative from idea to fruition, which is live on Thinkific now!
The Nestling Course is the first of Fledgling’s go-at-your-own-pace independent writing courses I plan to roll out twice a year. This 9+ hour guided drafting course, includes prompts and assignments, video lectures, and a final manuscript evaluation by me.
